Staff Profile

Hello!

My name is Marissa McClure and I have been a Professional School Counselor since 2017. Currently I work .5 at Horace Mann Elementary and .5 at St. Paul Music Academy. I started working in SPPS in 2023 and love being part of this amazing community. I was born and raised in small town Iowa. After high school, I attended the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with a B.A. in Family Services and Psychology. After undergrad, I attended Minnesota State University, Mankato for my Masters in K-12 Professional School Counseling.

As a School Counselor, we improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling This program focuses on three areas: Social/Emotional, College/Career, and Academic. School counselors work to maximize student success, promoting access and equity for all students. Services I provide include classroom lessons, group counseling, individual counseling, family support including resource sharing, advocacy for all students and more.

I have a zeal and passion for my job and love to watch students grow and succeed. 

Outside of work I am married and I have 2 boys, a dog, and a kitty. We love to travel together, play at parks, be outside, watch football, and visit family in Iowa.
