Ms. Jalonack
Dear Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. First and foremost, I feel very fortunate to be working with your child at this most important stage in his or her life. I have been teaching in St. Paul Public Schools for twenty plus years. I have enjoyed teaching preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. I grew up in St. Paul and am a product of their educational system!
My bachelor’s degree is in both early childhood and elementary education from the University of Wisconsin River Falls. I am licensed to teach students from birth through sixth grade. Shortly after beginning my teaching career, I attended St. Mary’s University and earned a master’s degree in elementary education. Since I believe we all are life-long learners, I continue to further my education during summer months.
I have also worked on the district’s Common Core Committee and had the opportunity to work with a group of educators to revise the district’s writing curriculum. I enjoy classroom teaching and working with the curriculum as both continually evolve.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening (my family has a century farm that I often visit), traveling, and being with my family in their activities.
YOUR child will make tremendous gains this year. In our classroom we will use hands-on materials and work to encourage social, emotional, and academic skills throughout the school year.
Communication is so important to me and is so important to a successful year! If you ever need to contact me, please don’t hesitate.
Notes Folder: If you would like to send a note in your child’s folder, I will check their folder every day. I will also place notes from school in the folder. Watch for a weekly newsletter on Fridays detailing what we will be focusing on for the coming week.
Please check out the first grade main page for curriculum information.
I enjoyed meeting all of you. We are off to a great partnership!
Respectfully,
Angela Jalonack
