Hara, Heather
Hello, My name is Heather Hara. I have been a Special Education Teacher in St. Paul Public Schools for 25 years.
It has been my pleasure to have been teaching at Horace Mann since the 2016-2017 school year. I teach and support student growth and development of skills in the areas of academics, executive functioning, and behavioral regulation. My goal is to hold students to high expectations and provide the support necessary to allow students to demonstrate growth, take pride in their accomplishments, and reach their highest potential. I work to build and maintain trusting and collaborative relationships with students, families, and team members.
One of my favorite quotes about teaching:
"For all students to excel, teachers must learn about them and connect with each child. This is not just about finding out how they learn, but it is finding out who they are." - George Couros
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My favorite activities include being outside, walking, biking, hiking, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, yoga, reading, photography, and traveling.
I can be reached by phone at (651) 293-8965 or by email at Heather.Hara@spps.org.
