Decision Making Authority: The Horace Mann School Site Council serves an advisory function to the principal. The Saint Paul Public School Board and Superintendent empower the school principal to make final decisions regarding building policies.
At Horace Mann School, the Site Council has 14 members (7 parents and 7 staff members). Members are elected each spring and typically serve three-year terms. A building Saint Paul Federation of Teachers (SPFT) steward occupies the one permanent seat on the Council.
The Horace Mann School Site Council typically meets on one Wednesday a month at 5:00 p.m. in the Library. Visitors are welcome to attend council meetings.
Should you wish to request an item be placed on the agenda at a future Site Council meeting, please contact one of the co-chairs -- Mike Linn (Parent) Mike.Linn@senate.mn or Judy Browne (Staff) judy.browne@spps.org -- at least one week prior to scheduled meetings.
