Horace Mann School Celebrates 9th Consecutive Superintendent's Award 1/23/2009 2:53 PMEach year Saint Paul Public Schools are eligible for the Superintendent's Award for Continuous School Improvement. This year Horace Mann School received its ninth consecutive award. Principal Jim Litwin and Horace Mann Sixth Graders Jack Q., John W., Laura R., and Molly M. gratefully accepted the award at the January 20 School Board meeting. Later the sixth graders visited each classroom to present the award and congratulate students and staff.
Schools receive the award by reaching targets for testing, attendance, and student conduct. Student test data is examined both to see that students are making at least a year's growth as well as to compare student groups to their peers statewide. Horace Mann students hit each of the benchmarks. Congratulations to all of the students, parents, and staff!
