| Purpose: The Grant Committee's main purpose is to apply for grants that are in keeping with the Horace Mann School mission and the school SCIP Plan.
History: The committee was developed under the direction of the school Site Council as a response to the need for a more determined and focused effort to obtain external funds for special school projects. The committee has been in existence since 2001.
Participation: Any interested parent or staff member in the Horace Mann School community.
Structure of Meetings/Activities: We are the most loosely organized of the school’s committees. We tend not to meet regularly, and do a lot of our research and communication online. We meet frequently to collaborate when we are in the writing stage.
Accountability: The Horace Mann School Grant Writing Committee is accountable to the Saint Paul School District #625 as well as to all Horace Mann School staff, students, parents and community.
Decision Making Authority: The Horace Mann Grant Committee is given full authority to apply for grants they deem appropriate. Each grant application requires the approval signature of the principal and Saint Paul School District officials, as well as the St. Paul Board of Education.
