The Horace Mann School Instrumental Music program is available to all the 5th & 6th graders.  First year students attend one 30 minute like-instrument group lesson per week and one 50 minute large group rehearsal after winter break.  Second year students attend one 30 minute small ensemble lesson per week and also participate in the full band after winter break. The band typically performs 2 concerts in the spring; one during the school day for the students and an evening concert in another location.  Additional performing opportunities may be available for our second year members.

Instrumentation in the band includes: flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba and percussion.  To see a photo album of all the instruments, click here.
